KHOR AI MING
A graduate from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore, Ai Ming is a holder of Fellowship in Voice (FTCL), and Licentiate in both Voice and Piano (LTCL) from Trinity College of London, UK.
As one of the most sought after contemporary music vocalists in Singapore, Ai Ming has been invited to perform for the closing ceremony of International Computer Music Conference(2003), hosted by National University of Singapore Centre for the Arts, and has successfully premiered the award-winning composition SPIRITUS by Irish composer Paul Wilson. She sang the role of Claire Zachanassian in Gottfried von Einem's Der Besuch der alten Dame, a modern Swiss opera, premiered at the Durrenmatt's Festival(2004) organised by The Swiss Embassy, Singapore.
As a chamber musician and recitalist, she has premiered Luciano Berio’s O KING, Giorgio Gaslini’s MAGNIFICAT and Schoenberg’s PIERROT LUNAIRE with The Magnetic Band, a contemporary music ensemble hosted by Young Musician Society, Singapore. She has sung cabaret songs in All That Jazz, a new chamber series presented by Esplanade. This year,she was featured in Singapore Chamber Music Festival, and has presented a successful vocal chamber recital,premiering works by Cantaloube, de Falla, Poulenc, Ravel and Bernstein.
Ai Ming has directed and performed in Vocal Associates, Female Expressions, Caravan Jazz Band with The Three Mezzos, Autumn Reminiscence, Romance of the 80s and the yearly Christmas Caroling for Esplanade. She is also a member of the award-winning The Philharmonic Chamber Choir lead by Mr. Lim Yau, and had toured with the choir to Hungary and Japan.
She is currently the vocal coach to the Singapore Youth Choir and Singapore Armed Forces Choir, and teaches voice to students in the Singapore Music Elective Programme. She has also trained many successful primary and secondary school choirs, winning awards from the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging of Choirs.
SATSUKI NAGATOME
Born in Tokyo, Japan Satsuki began performing as a member of NHK Tokyo Broadcasting Children’s Chorus at the age of seven.
She appeared on several TV and radio programs and numerous stage performances. In addition she had participated two concert tours in Europe with the Children’s Chorus.
In Singapore, Satsuki has performed in several opera productions as a member of the Singapore Lyric Opera in 2001 and 2002.
As a classical soloist, she has performed in a wide variety of works. She sung Petite Messe Solennelle with the German School International Chamber Choir in 2003, and has been performing with the 3 Mezzos in events including Female Expressions and Voce in 2004.
In the recent 2005 Mosaic Music Festival held at The Esplanade, Satsuki was invited as a flamenco soloist. She has been performing as the main Cantaora (flamenco singer) with the Singapore Flamenco Circle (SFC) since 2003 and has appeared in various SFC performances including:

WILLIAM LIM
Singapore-born, William Lim, studied under Michael Rippon at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Rudolf Pierney at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Patrick McGuigan at the Royal Northern College of Music. He was awarded the Silver Rose Award at the Rosa Ponselle International Voice Competition, New York.
William’s operatic roles have included Speaker and Sarastro in Mozart’s Die Zauberflote, Zuniga and El Dancairo in Bizet’s Carmen, the title roles in Britten’s Noye’s Fludde, Theseus in The Midsummer Night’s Dream, Il Bonzo in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Giorgio Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata, Tonio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci and Frank in J Strauss’ Die Fledermaus.
Besides singing opera, William has sung in oratorios and concerts. Bass parts include Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Mozart’s Requiem, Bach’s Mass in B minor, St Matthew’s Passion and Magnificat, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and a baritone part in the Asian premiere of Huang An Lun’s oratorio Psalm 22 - all these in collaboration with The Singapore Lyric Opera, The Hong Kong Oratorio Society, The Hong Kong Singers, The Singapore Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Friends of the Scottish Opera, Choral Trust Chamber Ensemble in Nottingham, England, Lleisiau Gwent Choral Society, Wales, and Orpheus Choir in Brighton, England.
William made his Singapore Symphony Orchestra debut in Mozart’s Requiem and sang My Dream for the National Day Parade 2001. In 2002, he sang the role of Il Bonzo in Madama Butterfly for the Penang Arts Council and in Kuala Lumpur. For Bangkok Opera, he sang The Abbott in Somtow Sucharitkul’s Mae Naak. In 2003, he sang The Mandarin in Puccini’s Turandot for Penang Arts Council and in 2004, he sang II commendatore in Mozart's Don Giovanni with the Bangkok opera.
In 2005 William Lim sang Il Bonzo again for Singapore Lyric Opera’s Production of Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly”. The following production will be Frank in Kurt Weill’s “Street Scence”. There will also be recitals at the Esplanade.
