GRISELDA’S ROLE IN THE 117TH IOC SESSION IN SINGAPORE

Griselda will be presenting the envelope containing the results of the winning city to host the 2012 Summer Olympics, to IOC President Jacques Rogge.

GRISELDA’S  SPORTING BACKGROUND

Griselda was introduced to the sport of sailing at the age of 10 through her father’s friend. In the following years, she spent most of her weekends at her club learning the finer details of sailing. Because of her love for the sport, combined with the desire and determination to excel, she has steadily climbed up the rungs.

Today at age 14 Griselda is by no doubt ranked among the top Optimist sailors in Singapore and in Asia. Some of her major achievements are as follows:

Awards

1. 2003 SNOC Meritorious Award (Junior)
2. 2004 SNOC Meritorious Award (Junior)

International Events:

1. 2004 – ASEAN Optimist Championship, Myanmar (1st Open/49 entries)
2. 2004 – IODA World Championship, Ecuador (60th/228 entries, 4thGirl/42 entries)
3. 2004 – ASIAN Sailing Championships, Mumbai (3rdGirl/16 entries)
4. 2003 – IODA ASIAN Optimist Championships, Mumbai
 (3rdOpen/58 entries, 1stGirl/11 entries, 1st Team/11 entries)

Her goal is to qualify for the 2006 Asian Games and to win a GOLD for Singapore.
