SINGAPORE WARMLY WELCOMES ALL GUESTS TO THE 117TH IOC SESSION
The 117th IOC Session Singapore Organising Committee would like to extend a very warm welcome to all media arriving in Singapore for the Session.
This is a historic event for Singapore with more than 3,000 to 5,000 IOC members, sports officials, enthusiasts and media joining us from all over the world to witness key decisions by the IOC on key policy issues and areas under its authority, including the review of the Olympic programme.
The Singapore Organising Committee will do its utmost to provide the most hospitable and congenial working environment for all members of the media. We wish you a successful Session in Singapore.

Launch of Olympic Museum Exhibition
Date / Time: 1 July 05, 6.30pm
Venue: Raffles City Atrium
IOC President Jacques Rogge will officiate the launch of the Olympic Museum Exhibition.
Designed and put together by the Olympic Museum and leveraging on the prestige of the 117th IOC Session, the Olympic Museum Exhibition is an opportunity for visitors to learn more about the spirit of the Olympics.
Photo opportunities will be available at the event. Interested media are invited to register their attendance:

Presentation to Head of State
Date / Time: 5 July afternoon
Venue: The Istana
IOC members will meet Mr S R Nathan, President of the Republic of Singapore, on the afternoon of 5 July. As access to the meeting is restricted, a selection of high-resolution pictures will be made available on the 117th IOC Session website from 5pm on 5 July for all media to download. 117th IOC Session Opening Ceremony
Date / Time: 5 July 7.30pm
Venue: Theatre, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay
The 117th IOC Session will be officially opened at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. The Guest-of-Honour for the evening is Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore.
A limited number of accredited photographers and cameramen, to be determined by the IOC, will be allowed to film the arrival of IOC members and delegates at the Forecourt of the Esplanade, as well as the proceedings and entertainment programme inside the Theatre.
A limited number of invitations for written press will also be distributed by the IOC Communications Department on 5 July at the MPC.
Media who are interested to cover the event are invited to RSVP at the Media Support desk at the MPC from 3 July. Confirmation of attendance will be given by the IOC at a press briefing to be held on 5 July at 11am.

*Note: Media representatives who are unable to secure a seat at the Opening Ceremony will be able to view the ceremony ‘live’ at the RCCC and on a Singapore TV channel – MediaCorp TV 12.
Media Reception & Hospitality
Media Reception
The Singapore Tourism Board will host a Media Reception for all accredited media on 4 July from 7 to 9pm, at Makansutra Gluttons Bay @ Esplanade. RSVP is not required. Media can choose to take a short, scenic walk from RCCC to the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. Please approach the Visitor Information Counter at Level 2 of RCCC for more information.
Media Tours
To allow our media guests the opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of Singapore while in town, special half-day tours have been put together for you to delight in. These tours are extended to all accredited media on a first-come-first-served basis, with our compliments!
